Exhibitions

Throughout my degree I’ve had a number of opportunities to exhibit my work, both on campus and outside.

Ayrshire

College

end of year show.

At the end of my HND Viscomm course we were given the chance to create something with our exhibition back boards.

I created this mural over the span of a few days. It was hard work, but in the end worth it. While I didn’t get to bring the piece home with me. I’m still pleased that I made it.

Degree Exhibition.

This was the first proper exhibition I was a part of, and the first of many. This was held in the Ralph Cowan gallery right at the end of our first semester. It show cased our own individual prints, letter press analogue and digital, as well as 2 riso prints.

Set up took a few days. Painting plinths, setting up laser guides for mounting and getting the very large 3D sculptural board hung on the walls.

End of year Exhibition.

The final exhibition of the year, showcasing our typographic and mark making projects from that semester. From our mark making experiments, to typographic printed canvas. We even collected a number of our works into a small book, each collating to the colours everyone had chosen. Mine being blue.

Collections Exhibition

Early in the process of our Advanced Design project, we were assigned a mini-brief. One lasting around two weeks, in which we had to create something related to our collections. My collection being my sketch books and the various people found with in. What stories they might tell, the lives they might have lived.

So I created these snippets from the worlds they may have originated from. My first test piece is still my favourite of the four. There is something about the deign and colour that feels more thought out. The final there needed more time. It’s too washed out, too patchy and doesn’t have true contrast.

CASS

ART

We were lucky to get a chance to exhibit at Cass Art in Glasgow. Showcasing a series of work made during some riso workshops. In which we used old discarded prints from the previous year to create new re-interpreted pieces of work.
